Last night, the Federation of Peñas del Carnaval de Totana presented, for the first time and in a new format, the program of activities for this year's festival, which continues from this weekend until the end of February, specifically on Sunday 18, with more than twenty festive, cultural and social events.
The public exhibition took place during the Gala Dinner held in a local restaurant, which was also staged before all the carnival clubs of Totana the official start of the Carnival with the presentation of La Musa and Don Carnal, starring Sonia Mateo (La Esencia) and Ramón Peñalver (In Almíbar), as well as the commemorative poster and the list of events for this year.
The event was attended by the president of the Peñas del Carnaval Federation, Antonio García Martínez, and the mayor, Andrés García, as well as representatives of the municipal Corporation and the different clubs of the Totana Carnival that they organize, with the collaboration of the Department of Culture, the program of activities to be held in the coming weeks without interruption.
With this program of activities, which officially began last night, it is intended to boost the social, cultural and festive life of Totana with already consolidated acts and other novelties, and that all of them advocate the participation and enjoyment of neighbors and visitors.
In addition, on Wednesday, January 24, the posters of La Musa and Don Carnal 2017 and 2018 will be posted, starting at 10 p.m., on the side of the La Santa ravine;
and on Thursday, January 25, the draw for La Musa and Don Carnal infantil'2018, whose act will take place in the municipal plenary hall (5:00 pm) and the draw for participation in the "DRAG QUEENS" Contest Gala (6:00 p.m.)
On Saturday, January 27, starting at 11:30 am, the Coexistence Workshop of Carnival is celebrated for children "Come and create your mask for Carnival", at the headquarters of the Federation of Peñas de Carnaval, in old school "La Cruz" -1st floor;
entrance through Santa Eulalia Avenue-;
whose activity is free and has limited places.
That same day will be, at 20:00 hours, the opening of the Carnavalera Carp in the auditorium of the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz";
and at 9:00 p.m., the Gala "DRAG QUEENS" Contest presented by Gina Boss, whose tickets have a cost of 7 euros and can be purchased at the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel", Totana City Council and the Peñas de Carnaval Federation.
At the end of this activity, there will be Music-Disco with Dj Valero, with free admission.
On Sunday, January 28, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a Holy Mass of thanksgiving and for the deceased of the Carnival of Totana, in the parish of Santiago, sung by the Choir "A Flor de Piel".
On the first weekend of February, on Saturday, the 3rd, at 8:00 p.m., the parade with musical animation of the Charanga "Tal como suena" will be held, from the Plaza de la Constitución to the "Marcos Ortiz" Auditorium, accompanied by La Musa, Don Carnal, the town crier, authorities and the Peñas de Carnaval.
One hour later, at 9:00 p.m., at the Carnavalera Tent, it will be the Gala and Proclamation of the Carnival by the crier of this year, Francisco Martínez Martínez, known as Paco "El Carola", and the delivery of the Mask of Gold'2018 to Juan Martínez Legs (Tío Juan Rita), as well as the proclamation of La Musa and Don Carnal Infantil'2018.
The act, whose entry has a cost of 7 euros, will feature the performances of the Chirigota Los Pipirigallos, students of the 5th course of Spanish Dance of the Professional Conservatory of Dance of Murcia, several local clubs and the participation of La Musa and Don Carnal 2018 At midnight, the concert will be held, with free entry of "La Espartera".
On Sunday, February 4, at 11:30 am, the MasterClass of Zumba Special Carnival will take place, at the Carnavalera Tent in the auditorium "Marcos Ortiz", for whose participation it has to be attended in disguise or with Carnival supplements;
and is organized by the School of Dance "Mari Loli", with free participation -inscriptions one hour before the activity-.
In the same place, in the tent of the auditorium "Marcos Ortiz" of the municipal park, starting at noon, the Day Fair will start;
and at 13: 0 0 hours, it will be the Pet Costumes Contest, in which there will be great gifts and registrations can be made one hour before the same.
The program continues on Tuesday, February 6, in the afternoon, during business hours, with a visit to the participating businesses in the II Showcases and Decorated Shops of Carnival Contest;
on Wednesday, February 7, with the morning visit of La Musa and Don Carnal'2018, accompanied by La Musa and Don Carnal'2017 to the hospital "Virgen de la Arrixaca";
and on Thursday, February 8, at 11:00 am, with a visit to the residence "La Purisima" and the Occupational Center "José Moyá Trilla" of the Carnival 2018 characters and local authorities.
The parades begin
On Saturday February 10 will be, from 16:30 hours, the parade of Carnival with the rocks of Totana, with the route through the avenue of Lorca, Sun, Plaza de la Constitution, Puente, San Antonio, Juan XXIII, Juan de la Cierva Square, Ángel de Novelé, Alberto Gray Hairstyle and Rambla de la Santa.
The participating clubs are the Samba Group of Totana in its 35th anniversary, Sueños de Papel, Peña Olympo, Golfos, Gertrudis, Pistonazo, Chapas, Pinchos, Olé, Tiara, Alegría, Venecia, Esencia, Almíbar and Crazy Rollers.
That same day, at midnight, will be the concentration of clubs and Carnival with the group and individual costume contest, in the marquee of the auditorium "Marcos Ortiz".
The next day, on Sunday, February 11, will be the children's parade, with the itinerary along the avenue of Lorca, Sol, Plaza de la Constitución, Puente, San Antonio, San Francisco de Asis and fairgrounds;
organized by the AMPAS of the participating Pre-school and Primary schools.
That Sunday, the activities will continue to be aimed at children, such as the Day Fair (1:00 pm), with a children's menu;
and Children's Party (5:00 pm), with animators and the magic of "El Mago de Oz", in the same Carnavalera Carp.
On Tuesday, February 13, from 20:30 hours the traditional concentration of masks, in the Plaza de la Constitución, and later parades, from 21:00 hours, to the Plaza de la Maderera, passing through the San Cristóbal Street, traditional street of the Masks.
The itinerary will be from the Plaza de la Constitución, Puente, San Antonio, Ánimas, San Cristóbal, Santa Eulalia Avenue, Miguel Marín Square, Ramblica, Carrasco and Plaza de la Maderera;
where the assistants have to go in disguise and enjoy the music, snacks and sangria.
On Saturday, February 17, at 12:00 noon, it will be a Day Fair with Carnival, beer and paella (2.50 euros), at the "Marcos Ortiz" auditorium.
From 17:00 hours the parades of the III Regional Carnival Contest will take place with the participation of Peñas de Totana.
The itinerary will be through the streets Alberto Gray Peinado, Ángel de Novele, Juan de la Cierva Square, Juan XXIII, San Antonio, Puente, Plaza de la Constitución and General Aznar.
The participating Peña de Totana are, together with La Musa and Don Carnal infantil, the Dreams of Paper groups, Peña Olympo, Golfos, Gertrudis, Pistonazo, Chapas, Pinchos, Ole, Tiara, Alegría, Venecia, Esencia, Almíbar and Crazy Rollers .
For its part, the regional clubs that will participate in this parade are Aporue (Cartagena), Dakarais (Sangonera La Verde), Media Luna (Librilla), Peña Marakachimbas (Espinardo), Azadar (El Esparragal) and Samana (Mula).
At the end of the parade, at midnight, it will be the great Carnival Party, with the awards ceremony of the regional carnival parade and shop window contest;
performance of the local clubs and delivery of gifts to all the clubs.
Finally, on Sunday, February 18, at 9:00 p.m., the costume and piñata ball will be held at the Senior Center, which will take place at the Senior Center of Balsa Vieja de Totana, with free admission. .
The Federation of Peñas de Carnaval gives the PADISITO de Totana Association the management of the stands that will be installed on Puente Street, so that everyone who wants to can enjoy the parades of the seated Carnival.
The prices will be: Saturdays 10 and 17 February at 5 euros, and Sunday 11 February 3 euros;
although there will be a 10 euro bonus for the three days;
whose sale of locations will take place in "Juguetería Hermanos Romero" and the City Council of Totana, respectively.
