The Department of Economic Development, Training and Employment of the City of Totana has recently received confirmation of subsidies processed by this department of the Regional Employment Service and Training (SEF) of the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Enterprise for a total amount of 120,000 euros for the hiring of long-term unemployed, as explained by the mayor Antonia Camacho.

The subsidies amount to 59,767.20 euros to hire three plumbers and two masons in the Municipal Water Service and 60,360.57 euros for the hiring of an average business technician, two administrative assistants and a janitor in the Local Development Center, respectively .

These grants are part of the Institutional Public Local Employment Program with non-profit organizations, aimed at long-term unemployed included in the Joint Action program corresponding to the 2017 call for applications.

The works or services that these unemployed will perform will cover the human resources needs of the Municipal Water Service and carry out analysis of the socioeconomic and business fabric of the municipality of Totana.

This line of subsidies from the Autonomous Community has amounted to a total of 4.9 million euros, distributed among municipalities, associations of municipalities and entities linked to a Local Administration of an administrative nature of the Region of Murcia that presented last year's report projects for the development of works or services object of this call.

The subsidies granted by the Regional Employment and Training Service are used to finance the labor costs of workers who, meeting the requirements set, are hired for the execution of works and services of general and social interest.

The purpose of this program is to acquire work experience and improve the employability of the unemployed, and to promote activity in those sectors of the local area where new needs are detected that have not yet been met.

The Councilor for Training and Employment, Antonia Camacho, has expressed her satisfaction with the work done by her department to obtain these grants and has underlined that the procedure for selecting those selected in this process will be transparent for those people who have the required requirements.
