The Department of Sports of the City of Totana is undertaking during these days works of replacement of the pavement of the School Room in El Paretón-Cantareros, located in the Polideportivo Complex "Valle del Guadalentín" and next to the school of this district, in order to improve this sports infrastructure and prepare it for multisport practice.
The actions are being undertaken by the local specialized merchant "Sintra Sports Facilities" and has a budget of 4,510 euros, which have been financed under a grant granted to the City of Totana by the Directorate General of Sports of the Autonomous Community within the call for aid for the improvement of sports facilities.
The works will be carried out throughout this week and consist of the elimination of the existing pavement and the installation of a synthetic and prefabricated floating rubber track, suitable for multisport practice indoors and specifically for sports facilities.
These will improve these facilities that are deteriorated by the passage of time and provide this sports facility with a floor that offers a higher quality and adapted to the regulations of maximum technical performance, as explained by the Councilor for Sports, Isabel María Molino.
At present, this sports infrastructure is used for educational and extra-curricular activities of the CEIB "Guadalentín" of this district, as well as for the practice of sports on a rental basis.
This morning, it is used, in the mornings, by the students of Infant and Primary Education and the ESO of the teaching center of this district;
and in the afternoons, in the program of "School Sports" and by users who use the facilities in the practice of different sports.
The councilor explained that this initiative aims to provide this pavilion with new pavement and improve these sports facilities located in El Paretón-Cantareros, and continue with the task of attending to each of the needs demanded by the sports infrastructures of the municipality of Totana.
The School Room of El Paretón-Cantareros was inaugurated in 2002, so it has been paved for more than 15 years and now it will be possible to benefit hundreds of users who use these facilities on a weekly basis.
