Volunteers of Civil Protection in Totana have recently conducted a fire drill at the "Guadalentín" School in the hamlet of El Paretón-Cantareros, in which the entire educational community of this teaching center participated and which had the collaboration of the Unit Canine of this Body.
The usual practice of evacuation drills fits within the provisions of the Self-Protection Plan of mandatory implementation in all the Teaching Centers of the Region, which aims to structure and organize the human and material resources available at the Center, in order to to respond effectively and coordinately in the first moments of an emergency and until the arrival of the Foreign Aid Services.
These evacuation practices become one more activity within the school tasks, which in this occasion had the invaluable collaboration of Civil Protection.
These are intended to teach students to conduct themselves properly in emergency situations;
and know the conditions of the buildings in which they are housed to achieve evacuation in an orderly manner and without risk to their occupants, or deterioration of buildings or school furniture, all of which must be done in the shortest possible time.
In addition, it helps to make students, their parents and teachers aware of the importance of problems related to safety and emergency in educational centers.
