The Municipal Library "Mateo García" Totana held two sessions of Storytelling on the 26th and 29th of December, respectively, in a field of Christmas reading and the use of toys during the holidays, according to sources from the Department of Culture.
The activity of December 26 is called "Christmas Cuentitis", included in the Christmas and Reyes program "Totana at Christmas. Enjoy it!".
And the Storytelling Day 29 is framed within the campaign launched by the Ministry of Family and Equality against the sexist use of the toy in the face of Christmas purchases. The Ministry has promoted a campaign, in the face of Christmas shopping, to encourage the choice of toys without gender stereotypes that limit the development of the children's personality, with which it is intended to promote the consumption of toys that allow them to freely develop their abilities and aptitudes for the present and the future, as well as promoting equality from the early age through the game.
The campaign recommends giving toys that help promote all the abilities and personal skills of children, which includes both quiet games and those that require physical activity.
Before the Christmas shopping, it is advisable to look for games and toys that promote equality in participation and the development of feelings and affections, without differentiation, in girls and boys.
In addition, avoiding toys, games and violent video games makes it easier for parents to educate young children to solve problems in a positive, constructive and creative way.
