In Spain there are around 20 million pets that are an integral part of the family, and in our municipality we are not oblivious to the ratios and proportionality of the national average in terms of the possession of a pet.
This company, together with the fidelity and joy that animals give, are aspects that define the importance they achieve for us throughout life.
For this reason, the time of the death of a pet becomes very painful, and many people already claim and appreciate a worthy end to their pets, because that affection, extends beyond life.
The Law 6/2017, of November 8, of protection and defense of companion animals of the Region of Murcia, published in the BORM dated November 23, comes to set the principles and rights that must be guaranteed to animals closer and loved that accompany and coexist with the human being in their environment.
For this purpose, public administrations with powers in matters of animal protection and health and protection of the health of the people living with them should develop their respective functions and actions, always seeking maximum welfare of the animal and safety and security. health of people.
Therefore, we will propose to the Plenary Session of the City Council of Totana to initiate the appropriate procedures for the elaboration of an Ordinance that regulates the authorization and creation of Cemeteries for pets in our municipality, always in accordance with the norms established for this purpose in competition for protection and animal health, public health and the environment, as well as any other that may be applicable.
