"We echo in this way, the just demands of both security and emergency bodies in the face of the need to increase their staff in order to meet the needs of the municipality"
The demands of neighbors and collectives are becoming increasingly numerous in the face of the growing increase in different criminal acts (robberies, gender violence, etc.), and given the shortage of Civil Guards in the Region of Murcia, mainly due to political of austerity by the Government in the convocation of places for public officials, among which this Body is located.
Given that Citizen Security does not understand or should not understand this stagnation, the Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUG) has urgently requested the coverage of all vacancies and the lack produced by the decreases in the staff, due to different factors such as retirements, transitory work incapacities, and that no Ordinary Post has a staff of less than 30 Civil Guards, nor a Main Post has less than 60.
In addition, if we add a current deficit situation to the arrival of summer, we find an exponential increase in this insecurity and the growth of crimes.
To the summer holidays of the agents, joins the determination of the Headquarters of the 5th Zone of Murcia to limit practically to zero the realization of hours of excess of the Civil Guards, even reducing patrol schedules, leaving time gaps without services.
In the same way, the lack of personnel affects the current Local Fire Department of Totana and Alhama, which covers a large territorial and population area in continuous growth.
Neighboring municipalities such as Librilla and Aledo are recipients of this service, which means that on many occasions the current staff of 3 firefighters is clearly insufficient to deal with emergencies that occur.
A clear example is the municipality of Mula, which has the same template for much less territory and population.
The current allocation, and despite the timely support and when possible of the neighboring parks, is clearly insufficient.
Valga as an example of a few weeks ago, the fire that occurred in a house located in C / López Ibor of our town.
In the event that the building had found a greater number of neighbors, and despite the rapid intervention of Fire, Local Police and Civil Protection, the lack of specialized personnel would have caused irreparable personal damage.
Therefore we ask the Headquarters of the 5th Zone of Murcia, Delegation of Government of Murcia and the Government of the Nation the increase of the templates of Civil Guards and the coverage of the vacancies that are produced and the Management of the Consortium of Fire Extinction of the Region of Murcia the qualification of Zone Firemen Park to the current Local Park of Totana-Alhama, increasing the number of personnel to 5 daily firefighters, as well as of the necessary material endowment for the complete functioning of the same.
