The Department of Youth launches during the Christmas school holidays, one year, the service reconciliation of work and family life, under a grant granted by the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, for an amount of 10,797 euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The Councilor for Youth, Inmaculada Blázquez, has presented this program, whose registration period is already open until the 100 available places are covered.
The service is aimed at families in which the two parents are working or in which one of them is working and the other is doing occupational training, during the school holiday season.
The application deadline was opened yesterday November 29 and will remain open until the places are filled.
It is about providing a necessary service in the locality, aimed at families with dependent children of school age (3 to 12 years old), where the reconciliation of work and family life and the socio-educational welfare of children are the highest priority .
The mayor explained that reconciling Christmas holidays with work or training for employment is an important effort for these parents, as more and more families in which both parents are working or, where appropriate, receiving training to Job search.
This conciliation program is presented as a clear support for working families, especially for those people within the seasonal group, because the socio-economic reality of the municipality, mainly agricultural, concentrates a large part of activity in this period.
Blázquez explained that this year has increased the amount of the subsidy, from 9,750 euros that were granted last year, to 10,797 euros for this year 2017, so that with this increase it has been possible to reach a greater number of participating children, expanding the available places to 100, with an increase of 25 places compared to last year.
The beneficiaries of the Christmas School are minors who are enrolled in the kindergarten and primary schools of the Totanero municipality, between the ages of 3 and 12, whose parents work or participate in training activities for employment.
The dates of accomplishment are the following: 26, 27, 28, 29, of December of 2017, and 2, 3, 4 and 5 of January of 2018, in schedule of 9:00 hours to 14:00 hours;
and this will be developed in the CEIP "Santiago" and CEIP "La Cruz" schools.
The councilor thanked the directors of both centers for their full collaboration and involvement in the good development of the service.
The inscriptions have to be formalized at the Socio-cultural Center "La Cárcel" and the service will be coordinated, as in previous years, by the Collective of Social Promotion "El Candil", an association with long experience and extensive experience in the realization of these services.
Among the activities that will be carried out during these holidays include school reinforcement, outdoor games and sports, as well as gymkhanas and popular games, crafts, in order to encourage creative expression and work fine motor skills, with inspirational work Christmas using multiple resources and plastic techniques, board games, and various workshops: music, psychomotricity, new technologies with online games, animation to reading, among others.
Finally, the mayor of Youth has indicated that the development of the Christmas School allows us to expand resources, continuity and participation of young people and children of Totana, during the Christmas period, while allowing the municipality to see favored by this socio-educational resource and also with this type of services.
