Students from Secondary Education from the different schools of Totana today formed a human heart in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja in this city to stage their "beats" against Gender Violence, as a culmination to the awareness-raising activities that have celebrated during these weeks.
The Department of Women and Equal Opportunities and the Center for Specialized Care for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) have organized during the month of November an extensive program of activities to commemorate the International Day of the Struggle against Gender Violence , which is celebrated on 25-N.
This has also been promoted by the different associations of women in the municipality.
The activity "Heartbeat" has been promoted jointly by the secondary students of the IES "Prado Mayor" and "Juan de la Cierva" and the schools "Reina Sofía" and "La Milagrosa" that have these teachings in this municipality - and the associations involved to form a heart.
The participants wore commemorative lilac t-shirts and have also observed a minute of silence for the victims of gender violence in the Region of Murcia and Spain so far this year.
This activity ends the program of activities that Secondary students have carried out during these weeks, among which have highlighted workshops on awareness and prevention of gender violence for adolescents, taught by the CAVI.
The event was attended by the mayor, Andrés García, the first deputy mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the councilors Ana María Cánovas and María José Bedia.
In addition, tonight will be held the central act of the program, with the demonstration against the VG, with a march through different downtown streets of the city;
and reading of the institutional manifesto and tribute with candles to the women murdered this year.
The departure will be at 20:30 and will depart from the Plaza de la Constitución.
