The Ministry of Development is executing emergency works to correct differential entries in the overpass on the road and the railway, at kilometer 615 of the A-7 motorway in Totana (Murcia), for an amount of 1.5 million of euros.

They will be subtracted from executing small auctions on the Murcia thoroughfare, which will involve specific lane cuts without the need to make traffic detours.
The works will be finished before the end of the year.
Technical characteristics
The orography of the natural terrain under the highway presents in this area a low point in which rainwater accumulates and drainage is difficult.
This situation, combined with some terrains that present high susceptibility to humidity, as well as the heavy loads produced by the intense traffic of the highway, has caused a descent of the abutments where the ends of the beams of the passage structure rest on the Murcia Lorca railway.
However, as the central support of the beams is made on a loading platform cemented by piles at great depth, the other end of the beams is maintained at its initial level.
This circumstance was creating a vertex in the center of the structure that caused jumps in the vehicles.
Therefore, it was considered necessary to restore the original grade, and for this purpose, the ends of the board of the structure have been lifted to the same level as when it was built.
In order to carry out this operation, synchronized hydraulic jacks have been used that allow to accurately reposition the entire board in its exact position.
Prior to this operation, we proceeded to the improvement and consolidation of the land on which the bridge sits, through the use of high pressure cement grout injections and the improvement of surface drainage to move rainwater away from the foundation of the bridge. structure.
Despite the complexity of the works, efforts have been made to minimize the impact on traffic, establishing a detour through the motorway itself, whose layout has been designed with sufficiently wide radii that it would not be necessary to limit the speed excessively.
