The councils of Health, Women and Equality of the City of Totana remember that the campaign to show support for the project called -730- by the Andalusian photographer and artist, Mara León, aimed at vindicating the unification of protocols between autonomous communities so that every woman masectomizada have the right to have two breasts operated in the minimum periods by plastic surgeons, will end in our municipality on December 4. This was launched by the Consistory totanero last August and encourages that, before this date of finalization, participate in it all citizens who wish it.
For this, leaves are available to sign in the following municipal buildings: the Citizen Service of the City of Totana, La Cárcel Sociocultural Center, Library, Social Services Center, Senior Center, Manolo Ibáñez Municipal Pavilion, Office of Tourism and Local Development Center.
It all started on August 2, 2013 when Mara León was operated on for breast cancer and her left breast was amputated.
After the treatments of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he found that the reconstruction process was long and he entered a waiting list of more than three years.
This is how the project -730- was born, which are the days that she had to wait for her breast reconstruction after having suffered this disease.
Its objective is to denounce the slowness of waiting lists for this operation.
The E730 platform, therefore, tries to obtain 500,000 signatures needed to present them before the Congress Table of the Deputies and thus start the parliamentary procedure, in order to reach that the women mastectomized after a breast cancer have a fairer attention and equal throughout the Spanish territory, as far as the reconstruction of his chest is concerned, since the waiting lists range from six months in communities like Andalusia and five years in Catalonia.
In Andalusia, the E730 platform managed to get breast reconstruction within the guarantee of deadlines, now it is what is intended to be done at the National level, in order to equalize the rights for all regardless of the community in which they reside.
It will be addressed to the "Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality" with the request to unify the protocols of action between Autonomous Communities.
Totana City Council collaborates with this project while encouraging all citizens who wish to participate in it, in its last phase.
