The institutional act of granting the Title of the Favorite Son of the City of Totana to the historian and researcher from Totana, Ginés Rosa López, will be held on December 1 (8:45 pm), at the sociocultural center "La Cárcel", in the framework of the cultural activities of the patron saint festivities of Santa Eulalia.
The Plenary approved last June a proposal of the Mayor, with the votes in favor of Win Totana-IU and PSOE and the abstention of the PP and council not attached, to name this writer, historian and researcher totanero Favorite Son of the Loyal and Noble City of Totana and to give its name to the Theater of the Municipal Center of Culture, that would happen to be denominated "Pink Ginés Theater".
The act will be celebrated coinciding also with the celebration of a concert of the Band of the Musical Group of Totana that same night (9:00 pm) within the program of the patron festivities.
In the Mayor's motion was remembered, in his day, the support and promotion given by Ginés Rosa to the totanera crafts from his positions as director of the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia and as general director of Tourism of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, which allowed the opening of doors and the promotion of business in sector fairs, both national and international.
In the same also referred to in his person come together "the facts and values" for being "a totanero at the service of others, who has worked with effort, determination and generosity and always to put in public value the socializing character of our culture and crafts. "
In addition, since he permanently established his residence in Murcia in 1984, he has shown repeated signs of being a tireless worker in the research and dissemination of the history and culture of Totana;
effort that has resulted in the publication of 10 books on this municipality, as well as more than 40 articles for the publications of Holy Week and Cuadernos de La Santa.
Similarly, recently the bibliographic and documentary heritage of Totana has been considerably enriched thanks to the generosity and affection it feels for its people.
Also in 2015 he donated to the municipal library "Mateo García" almost 300 books of his magnificent personal library and, also, on two occasions he has made very important altruistic donations to the Municipal Archive of documents that were once in the same and that later, due to unknown avatars, they disappeared from this public service.
