The councils of Infrastructures and Water and Sewerage have jointly started this week the works of sanitation and paving of the central street Cánovas del Castillo, within the Regional Action Plan for Promotion of Works and Municipal Services (PARDOS) that funds the Autonomous Community corresponding to year 2016;
whose actions will continue until the end of this year.
The mayor, Andrés García, and the councilors of the areas involved, Víctor Balsas and Antonia Camacho, visited with the municipal technicians the works that started last Monday, and that has led to the consequent cut of the road and temporary prohibition of access to garages by neighbors and users.
The actions will be developed during a month and consist of the renovation of the supply and sanitation networks in three hundred meters of this street and its paving, with a length of 230 meters;
with an investment of 108.00 euros from the Regional Executive.
Along with this work, the paving projects for Moratalla and Sucre streets, which also includes the renewal of the supply and sanitation networks, have been awarded last week for 94,000 euros.
To these are added the improvement actions in the streets Padre, Melchor de Benissa, Calasparra, San Cristóbal, Carmen and Cruz de los Hortelanos, amounting to a total investment of 273,000 euros between municipal and regional own funds, according to Balsas, who explained announced that it is already working together with the Department of Water and Sewerage in the development of more projects for successive years.
On the other hand, the mayor Antonia Camacho has defended the need to execute these projects in an integral way because it is illogical that streets are being asphalted but the actions in the water and sewage network are not undertaken.
The PARDOS includes the works to improve Cánovas del Castillo and Cañada Zamora streets and the collection and evacuation of rainwater from Teniente Pérez Redondo Street to the Arcos ravine, which were already executed two months ago.
In the case of Calle Cánovas del Castillo, it is planned to renew the supply and sanitation network;
while the Cañada Zamora street will be conditioned, in a first phase, to García Alix street for 120,000 euros.
In addition, the PARDOS for 2016 also included the rehabilitation of the children's playground of the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz", in which the Community contributed 74,500 euros of the total 82,700 that the work imported, and which is also running.
