The people of Totana will celebrate a thanksgiving Eucharist for the beatification of three martyrs of the Vincentian family, two of them natives of the municipality (Juan José Martínez Romero and Pedro José Rodríguez Cabrera) and another native of Cartagena (José Acosta Alemán), whose last pastoral mission and martyrdom was in this place.
The parish of Santiago El Mayor will host, at 7:00 p.m., the celebration, presided over by the Bishop of Cartagena, Msgr. José Manuel Lorca Planes, at which the burial of the relics of the three Blesseds will take place. on the altar of the chapel of the Virgen del Carmen, as reported from the Bishopric in a statement.
The mortal remains of the new Blesseds were exhumed on October 4.
Two of them were in the pantheon of the priests of the parish and the other, in the family vault, in the municipal cemetery of Our Lady of Carmen.
During the Mass, which will be celebrated this coming Saturday, will be read the decrees of the constitution of the court, as well as the document of exhumation of the mortal remains and other official documents proper to the process of burial.
In procession, from the main altar of the temple, the relics will be moved, placed in three wooden urns, which will be placed in a visible area, behind a glass, for public veneration.
On the occasion of the beatification, the family of Blessed Juan José Martínez Romero will deliver to the parish a chalice owned by this priest, which will be used by the Bishop in the celebration of the Thanksgiving Eucharist on Saturday.
According to the parish priest, Francisco José Fernández, the giant banner placed in the tower of the church and a publication about the blessed are some of the signs of joy of the people of Totana for this event.
This afternoon, at 7:30 p.m., the priest José Antonio Ibáńez will give a talk on the life of these three men of faith, which will take place in the parish.
