Students of the Mixed Employment-Training Program in the specialty of "Social Care for Dependent People in Social Institutions" have recently made a didactic visit to Caja Mediterráneo Foundation in Cartagena, to attend a conference organized by the Association of Personality Disorders of this city.
The general objective of attending the day was to acquire knowledge of personality disorders, which includes knowing the disease more explicitly, the importance of the role of the family, the deterioration it causes in the social, work and family life of those who they suffer, and the consequences of the disease in the people with whom they live and their environment, among whom we find caregivers.
The day began with the presentation of Dolores Mosquera, psychologist and director of INTRA-TP (A Coruña) and supervisor of EMDR EUROPA, with the importance of working with the family in Personality Disorders.
Later I continue with Carlos García Briñón, psychiatrist at the Psychiatry Unit of the University Hospital of Santa Lucía and collaborating professor of the UCAM, treating the current reality of the hospital treatment of Personality disorders.
Finally, Francisco Javier Corbalán, a psychologist and full professor at the University of Murcia, addressed the issue of personality, family and personality disorders.
The purpose of this type of educational outlets, within the Joint Program of Employment and Training, is to cover knowledge related to the training received, and in turn complement it in the face of labor and professional integration.
All costs associated with this visit are borne by the subsidy granted to the City of Totana (Department of Employment) and thanks to which 15 students are being trained in the socio-health specialty.
