The Governing Council has approved giving 60,000 euros to the City of Totana to carry out emergency works to maintain the integrity of the archaeological site of La Bastida, classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), as reported by regional government sources in a statement .
The technicians of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment checked the deterioration of the base of this archaeological site by the existence of landslides and drags in the wall structures and in the archaeological deposit caused by the existing slopes of the land, such as the trough of drainage of the hillside, and support on soft soils, which make its repair necessary to avoid putting the stability and safety of the structures at risk and to guarantee the integrity of the property.
On September 20, the General Directorate of Cultural Assets ordered the City of Totana , owner of the property, the execution of emergency actions in the archaeological site, with an estimated completion time of three months and which will be financed with the grant approved today.
