The Department of Construction and Municipal Infrastructures of the City of Totana is preparing these days and finalizing the completion of the Municipal Cemetery "Our Lady of Carmen" for the feast of All Saints and the days before this date so marked.
The councilor in charge of this municipal area, Víctor Balsas, made a visit to the graveyard, together with the person responsible for the company awarded the service, José María Martínez Fernández, in order to learn firsthand the actions taken in recent weeks and the preparations in this room.
The mayor recalled that from his department is sought throughout the year, together with the contractor, provide a service in the best conditions, although logically during these days it is reinforced by the massive presence of visitors in the coming dates.
In the last weeks, both the municipal workers and the workers of the concessionaire of the service have carried out numerous works of conditioning and improvement of the cemetery in order to have it in the best conditions possible from this next weekend.
Among these, the work of gardening in the entrance of the cemetery, the cleaning of the promenade surrounding the cemetery that uses parking during these days, the changing of taps in the enclosure, the improvement of the entrance for disabled people and the in-depth cleaning of all spaces.
The councilman thanked the invaluable collaboration of Local Police and Civil Protection during the days of the security and emergency device (between both will have more than thirty human employees);
and reported that a wheelchair service will be enabled on 1 and 2 November for disabled persons.
He took the opportunity to invite the neighbors to the traditional Mass of Souls in the Municipal Cemetery to be held on Thursday, November 2, starting at 5:00 p.m.
In addition, he referred to the hourly expansion during these days in the enclosure and reminded users and companies that they are carrying out works inside the cemetery that, from today, will have to stop those actions in order that the enclosure is in the proper conditions of cleanliness and adornment facing these days.
Once celebrated on the day of the Animas, on November 2, work may be resumed that would have been pending or will be executed, according to Victor Balsas.
Likewise, he announced that during that time period, access to all kinds of vehicles is restricted for placement of flowers in the following schedule: October 31, from 6 to 8 hours;
from 14 to 15 hours and from 19 to 23 hours;
and days 1 and 2 of November: from 6 to 8 hours, respectively.
