The campaign of vaccination and prevention of influenza will begin this year in mid-November, as confirmed by sources of the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The first cases of influenza are usually recorded in the Region of Murcia towards the end of December and the beginning of January.
For this reason, the Ministry of Health has determined that it is in November when the campaign begins.
The Ministry tries to adjust calendars to get closer to the epidemiological reality of the maximum peak of influenza, so that the moment of greater effectiveness of the vaccine arrives in the dates in which the greater amount of cases is given.
Thus, between 7 and 14 November will start the vaccination campaign.
In addition, it will advocate that all health centers have the vaccine at the same time, in order to avoid logistical problems that lead to a feeling among citizens that "the vaccine is not."
