The Department of Town Planning of the City of Totana informs that the deadline for submitting allegations to the modification of the project of the High Voltage Line ends on 23 October, which procedure can be carried out in the municipal offices of the Council itself, located in the House of Contributions.
The Department of Urbanism will start tomorrow a campaign of collection of allegations and signatures to the modification of this project in order to support and encourage the initiative promoted by the citizen platform constituted several years ago against this project.
The Consistory totanero last week organized an informational meeting with land owners affected by the layout of this High Voltage Line, which was held in the theater of the Center for Sociocultural "La Cárcel", which adopted, among others, this measure.
The Council will support the campaign developed by the platform in order to provide technical and logistical support, so that it has a point of collection of allegations and signatures that centralize this initiative, which will be guided by municipal technicians and representatives of the citizen platform itself.
After two years of negotiations that they believe have led nowhere, the Platform of Affected by the High Voltage Line of Totana and Aledo has recently announced mobilizations and possible judicial claims and not only against the line that must evacuate the production of the park photovoltaic energy 'Lorca Solar', but also against this project itself.
The plant planned by X Elio in the Lorca hamlet of Zarcilla de Ramos, which would produce about 400 megawatts, could begin its works next year.
These neighbors, largely from Aledo and Totana, are currently studying legal measures to prosecute their claims.
The High Voltage Line runs through the center of the municipal district of Aledo and areas of cultivation of Totana, and will serve to evacuate the energy produced by the photovoltaic solar plant to be built in the hamlet Lorca.
The line would be built to evacuate the energy from the photovoltaic solar plant at the substation located next to the Industrial Estate "El Saladar" of Totana and that would affect the municipalities of Lorca, Aledo and Totana;
and more concretely to more than 450 parcels of direct way, reason why the platform demands protection.
The project contemplates crossing cropland and the irreparable landscape damage that will cause because it runs through a natural environment between two protected areas LIC (Place of Community Importance) and ZEPA (Special Zone of Protection of Birds), in addition to harming farmers of table grapes, cultivated by 90% of inhabitants of Aledo and also a very high percentage of Totana.
