The ICIO will be awarded a 75% bonus to the company that wants to build one of the largest mobile solar panels in the country due to the social considerations contemplated by the project (29/07/2017)

The plenary session of the City Council of Totana agreed at its last ordinary meeting, unanimously, to ratify the Declaration of Special Interest for reasons of employment the photovoltaic installation project in the area Las Flotas de los Álamos of this locality, which was already agreed in full Last April, with a total bonus of 75% of the Tax on Installations, Constructions and Works (ICIO) for concurring social circumstances and employment promotion.

Initially, three months ago, the agreement agreed to an initial ICIO 50% bonus, which is now an additional 25% because it is a project that will result in benefits for the general benefit of the municipality, with measures such as hiring of Over 45, support to local sports, among others.

The proposal was presented by the first deputy mayor and councilor of Industry and Economic Development, Juan José Cánovas, before the application for the concession of said tax made by the mercantil company "Followers Solares Plant 2 SL", and in compliance with the regulatory ordinance of ICIO In the Consistory totanero.

In addition, the plenary agreed to require this mercantile guarantee for the total amount of tax that is subsidized in case it obtains the corresponding municipal license until final settlement, as well as designate a person responsible for monitoring and monitoring compliance with obligations Contracted by the company to obtain said bonus.

Juan José Cánovas has expressed his satisfaction for the support and institutional ratification of this entrepreneurial initiative that will result in business growth and wealth generation in this municipality;

And has emphasized that it is the result of the effort in the management of this and previous municipal teams of government in Totana.

The Soltec company, a leader in the manufacture of solar trackers, asked the City Council a few months ago for a 91-megawatt photovoltaic panel of mobile panels capable of supplying more than 30,000 homes.

This would be one of the largest in Spain, whose project has already complied with all administrative procedures and has obtained the favorable report from the National Commission on Markets and Competition.

The company estimates that the construction of the new solar plant, located next to the industrial estate "El Saladar" of Totana, will require more than 500 direct and indirect jobs during the next year.

In addition, it will cover an area equivalent to 145 football fields and will have 267,652 panels that will move synchronously following the course of the sun;

So that the plant will generate 20% more electricity than a fixed panel installation.

One of the keys to the project is its location, just 500 meters from the point of connection to the electricity grid, located in the substation of Totana, whose link would be executed underground, with the aim of respecting the fauna of the area and eliminating The visual impact.

Soltec, based in the industrial estate La Serreta, was born in 2004 in the heat of the resurgence of renewable energies;

And its commitment to its own technology (it has about thirty patents) and, in particular, its solar tracker tracking systems for photovoltaic panels opened the company to a wide market within the Region.

There are many solar roofs covering factory roofs (Adhesivos Orcajada, Lealplast or Zukan, for example), cooperatives (Gregal), greenhouses (in San Pedro del Pinatar), as well as car parks (Espinardo campus and Corvera airport) .

It also boasts photovoltaic power plants such as La Alcayna and El Cañarico;

And its most recent projects are the energy supply plants of the Campotéjar Irrigation Community and the Valdelentisco desalination plant.

Bet on R & D

Soltec's biggest assets in Spain are its investment in R & D (not less than one million euros per year) and offering a complete solution for those who want a solar plant: supply, installation, start-up and maintenance of equipment.

The crisis and the questioning of premiums to photovoltaic energy prompted Soltec to look for market niches abroad.

The company already has a presence in Chile, Brazil, China, Denmark, the United States, India, Italy, Israel, Mexico and Peru, where it has participated in some of the most important projects in these countries.

With a human team of 250 people (up to 800 for certain projects), the plants that Soltec has contributed to build abroad already have a power of 1.5 gigawatts, the equivalent of two nuclear reactors.

The company billed 65 million euros last year.
