The XXVII Festival of Bands "Ciudad de Totana" will take place on Friday, July 21, on the occasion of the program of cultural activities of the patron saint festivities in Santiago, thus recovering an initiative that was not celebrated since 2011 and organized by the Musical Group of Totana.
The Councilor for Culture, Eulalia Moreno, the director of the Band of the Musical Group of Totana, Pedro Martínez Sánchez, and the member of the board of directors of this one, Miguel Ángel Espín Gázquez, presented the activity that will count with the participation of three Bands, and free admission.
The participating groups are the Molina de Segura Music Band Association, the "Maestro Eugenio Calderón" Music Association of Mazarrón and the host of the Band of the Musical Group of Totana.
The festival will start at 20:00 hours with a parade of participating bands that will depart from the Plaza de la Constitución and cross different urban roads of the city center;
And the concert will be held at 9:00 pm, in the auditorium of the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz", in which each band will intervene for about half an hour each.
This is an initiative that has wanted to recover the new board of directors of the Totana Music Association coinciding with the celebration of the patron saint festivities in Santiago, since the contest was held uninterrupted between 1985 and 2011, and since then has not Took place.
The festival also has the collaboration of the Conservatory of Music "Narciso Yepes" Lorca and the Federation of Music Bands of the Region of Murcia.
