The Mayor of Totana, Andrés García Cánovas, recently met, together with municipal technicians, with representatives of different non-profit entities of this municipality in order to inform them of the call for aid from European FEADER funds and give them an account Of the new strategies of local development, of which they can benefit by presenting their projects.
The first mayor has held a meeting, among others, with the new president of the Illustrious Cabildo Superior de Procesiones, José Ramón Peñalver Solano, responsible for Caritas and the parish communities of Totana, such as Father Pedro Hernandez, to explain the existing measures in said To address basic priorities.
This aid from Community EAFRD funds is forfeit both for projects promoted by individuals and for the Town Hall itself and other organizations.
These are being managed in the Region of Murcia through the local action groups "Integral" and "Campoder", groups to which Totana belongs, since part of the municipal term belongs to one and the rest to another.
Both entities have prepared their corresponding Participatory Local Development Strategy (ELDP), which establishes, together with the rest of the regulation, the Action Plan that establishes and develops the lines of action, the eligible projects and the beneficiaries of the aid .
The aids are, among other lines, support for the protection, conservation and awareness of heritage;
Support for the protection of the rural heritage and promotion of the territory;
Promotion of rural tourism;
And investments in services and infrastructures.
One of the issues that arises in this process is, above all, the need to conserve and value the tangible and intangible heritage, always seeking a balance between conservation, valorization and its use as a resource for rural development.
