The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries will proceed to the settlement of two new rural roads in the municipality of Totana within the second call of the Regional Plan for Rural Roads 2014/2020;

The Council presented yesterday to the municipalities of the Region the result of the second call to make improvements to the aforementioned regional plan, which will benefit 33 municipalities, including Totana.
The Mayor, Andrés García, accompanied by the new Councilor of Roads, Víctor Balsas, attended the meeting in which the actions of the Rural Roads Regional Plan 2014/2020 were announced and presided over by the Councilor Francisco Jódar Alonso.
The second call was extended from one to two months to enable municipalities to assess the effects of the floods of December 2016.
The Way of the Barquilla has an approximated length of 1,500 meters with an average width of 5 meters;

Finally, the necessary vertical and horizontal signage will be available, with an approximate contract execution budget, amounting to 155,576.50 euros.
For its part, the other road that communicates with the place of the House of Trini has a length of approximately 1,400 meters with an average width of 5 meters;

In particular, 41 municipalities presented their applications to develop 149 actions.
Of these, 64 actions to improve rural roads were preassigned to act on a length of 189.6 kilometers, corresponding to 33 municipalities.
The Rural Development Program (RDP) of Murcia for the period 2014/2020, was approved by the European Commission and is developed through direct investments of the Autonomous Community co-financed by the EAFRD funds.
In April 2016 the first call was launched, in which actions were selected in 50 roads of 23 municipalities, with an estimated expenditure commitment of 4,500,000 euros by the Ministry.
At present, works in 20 of these roads are being executed or are being executed, 29 of which are in the planning and contracting stages, and the remaining road is being redefined along with the municipality involved.
It is foreseen that the works will allow to adapt and improve some 600 kilometers of rural roads in the period between 2014 and 2020, for which more than 16 million euros will be invested.
The Region of Murcia has a network of 6,000 kilometers of roads.
