Last Friday, June 23, 2017 were held in the headquarters of the Illustrious Cabildo Superior Processions of Totana the votes to President of the Cabildo for the period 2017-2021.

The Electoral Board closed the process of submitting candidatures the first week of June, being received at this time the candidacy of Mr. José Ramón Peñalver Solano, current president of the Brotherhood of the Veronica of Totana.

After the Ordinary Session of the Illustrious Cabildo held yesterday, a vote was taken by the Presidents of the Brotherhoods in Extraordinary Session, with the following result: 14 votes in favor, 2 votes against, 1 blank vote and 1 abstention for Part of Mr. Párroco, who did not attend the vote.

With this favorable result, we are proud to inform that the new president of the Illustrious Cabildo Superior de Procesiones for the period 2017-2021 will be Mr. José Ramón Peñalver Solano, who has a great trajectory within Holy Week in Totana.

He began his youthful career in the Brotherhood of Veronica in the 80s, he began to hold the throne and that is where he found his place in Holy Week.

Later, in the year 2000 and until the year 2008, he was Big Brother De Throno de la Verónica.

He was then appointed Vice President, a position he held until September 2011, when he was elected President of La Verónica, and his term of office was renewed in June 2015.

Since 2011 he was Member of Headquarters and Heritage of the Board of Directors of the Illustrious Superior Cabildo de Procesiones in the legislature of Mr. Juan María Zamarreño López.

In 2012, he was appointed member of the Organization under the mandate of Mr. Antonio Martínez Baena.

In 2013 he was a candidate for President of the Illustrious Cabildo and, since then, and in the legislature of D. Antonio Martínez Belchí, he was a member of the Board of Directors as a member of the Organization of the Illustrious Cabildo Superior. To occupy the one of President of the Cabildo mentioned before.
