The councilor of Archaeological Site, Inmaculada Blázquez, accompanied by a municipal technician of this department, attended the Participatory Conferences of the integral project "Cerro de la Encina" in Monachil (Granada), whose archaeological site also belongs to the Argar culture.
The day began with the presentation of the project by the Mayor and Councilor of Tourism of Monachil, who gave way to representatives of the Delegation of Culture and Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, Department of Prehistory of the University of Granada and Association of Friends of The Argar.
Subsequently, participants were distributed to different working groups: 1. Tourism and artisan initiatives, 2. Agro-ecological cultivation in Cerro de la Encina, 3. Educational and cultural initiatives, 4. Associations of Monachil and 5. Gender vision.
The mayor totanera participated in the first table of tourist and craft initiatives where she explained the different actions and evolution of the promotion tasks in the La Bastida field from 2010 to the present.
These included guided tours, workshops for educational centers, theater visits, open days, conferences, visits regulations, creation of the Argaric menu, construction of a replica of an argaric house, among other things.
In addition, its presentation raised a great interest on the part of the members of this table and generated a very positive dialogue among all.
Blázquez announced that a meeting will be convened in Totana in which all participating municipalities involved in the promotion of Argaric culture through their own resources, after the summer, will participate in order that the municipalities, through their respective Autonomous Communities, can request UNESCO to make argaric culture a World Heritage Site.
To conclude the day, the conclusions of the house were presented one of tables and the commitment was made to continue working in a participatory manner.
