The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, of Ganar Totana-IU, registered this morning his resignation to the Mayor's Office of Totana by virtue of the government agreement reached in 2015 with the PSOE and, by which, will be the current lieutenant Mayor Andrés García Cánovas who takes office.
Both municipal groups, PSOE and Ganar Totana-IU, have six councilors each, for 8 of the PP and one not attached.
The plenary session of Andrés García to take the second round of the municipal mandate in this legislature will be next June 24, at 12:00 in the theater of the Center for Sociocultural "La Cárcel".
Juan José Cánovas wanted to share the announcement of this "second resignation" and also recalled his departure as councilman of the City of Totana in 2004, when he left the Consistory for health reasons to treat cancer.
"In October 2004 I stopped being a councilor and the City Council to face the biggest challenge of my life in a battle in which I still keep tabs with the disease, but that has not defeated me," says the still regidor totanero.
The first mayor totanero formalized today its cessation by registry of entrance, reason why the plenary session will be to account and reason of its resignation to the Mayor's office without losing, for that reason, the condition of councilman of the municipal Corporation, as As established in article 40.4 of Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28, which approves the Regulation of Organization, Operation and Legal System of Local Entities.
