The Department of Public Safety and Emergencies has published an information leaflet on basic standards of pedestrians and cyclists on urban and interurban public roads in order to improve road safety in the framework of an awareness campaign promoted by the Local Police, giving Compliance with a plenary agreement last January.
Local councilor, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, local police chief Alfonso Canales, and one of the agents responsible for the School of Road Education, José Martínez Valverde, presented this initiative, which is basically addressed to schoolchildren of the municipality but also To the general public.
To this end, 6,000 leaflets have been published on basic standards in the case of pedestrians and cyclists for the proper crossing of streets and traffic lights, road crossings, night traffic, and so on.
In the case of the cyclist also offers recommendations on the use of the helmet, the circulation of the bicycle in the urban center and the road, the group circulation and at night, the obligations of the cyclist and the bicycle signage, between other issues.
The triptychs of this information campaign will be distributed among schools, clubs and sports associations of Totana in order to reach users and the general public of the municipality.
