About 30 children participated this weekend in environmental activities held in the area of ​​La Santa on the occasion of the World Environment Day, which is celebrated on June 5, organized by the socio-cultural association of leisure and free time "Box of Pandora" and that count on the collaboration of the Department of Environment.
With these activities, which have been celebrated during the last years, it aims to promote social and pedagogical awareness;
And included recycling workshops and games at the source of the "Four Jets" and an excursion to the Heart of Jesus, as well as an itinerary in the vicinity of La Santa.
Participants held a workshop to collect non-biodegradable materials and waste, such as cans, plastics and papers.
The children were also able to enjoy lunch time and informative talks about the importance of environmental conservation and natural environments.
Environmental activities had the objective of raising awareness among the participants in respect for and care for the environment;
And raise the awareness of children about the importance of recycling at source and the environmental problems that exist in their environment.
In addition, the aim was to promote the education of children by helping them to understand the environment through activities related to landscape, water, air, flora and wildlife in their environment, as well as to promote interest in participation and improvement enviroment.
The participants had the visit of the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the Councilor for the Environment, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez.
