Every year, coinciding with the 15th of March, this municipal department is reminded of the rights of people in its consumer and consumer side.
Since 1984 they have been recognized in our legislation, now having the necessary weight in the Constitution of 1978 so they were included within the Guiding Principles of Social and Economic Policy.
The detail of what rights we have, in the field of consumption, is reflected in the Consolidated Text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws.
Thus, basic consumer rights protect against risks that affect health or safety, protection of legitimate economic and social interests, compensation for damages and compensation for damages suffered, correct information on different goods Or services and education and dissemination to facilitate the knowledge about their proper use, consumption or enjoyment, the hearing in consultation, participation in the procedure of elaboration of the general dispositions that affect them and the protection of their rights through effective procedures.
Likewise, the current Law 4/1996, of June 14, of the Statute of consumers and users of the Region of Murcia comes to give letter of nature to such rights within the scope of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
