With the arrival of school holidays and Christmas, our children and young people have fired the year with a holiday party, where they have performed activities of Christmas and have taken chocolate.
Nor have they missed the carols and the good atmosphere.
In addition, parents have participated, and in addition to collaborating in the activities, they have been able to visit the classrooms and learn firsthand the work that their children do in them.
These classrooms currently have the participation of 80 children and more than 55 families in the municipalities of Totana and Mazarrón.
They are framed in the "Project of Socio-educational Intervention with Families and Minors in Situation of Social Disadvantage in the Region of Bajo Guadalentín", subsidized by the Council of Family and Equality of Opportunities of the CARM and supported by the Municipalities of Totana and Mazarrón.
This project, which has been carried out in Totana since October 2014 and which this year has increased its scope of action in the municipality of Mazarron, arises in response to the needs detected of various families by the Collective El Candil and the demands received from several Municipal entities, including schools and Social Services.
It has as main objective the adequate attention of the minors and to cover of the necessities vital for an optimal development.
In addition, priority is given to the creation of support groups in which parents are encouraged to promote parental responsibility for the education of minors.
