The Department of Infrastructures is going to raise a motion to the ordinary plenary in December to request the Ministry of Presidency and Culture and Portavocía, respectively, to finance at least 60% of the investment, to cover and rehabilitate the auditorium of the municipal park " Marcos Ortiz "of Totana.
In addition, the proposal of Councilman Víctor Balsas asks to request the General Directorate of Local Administration technical assistance, and drafting the project of this infrastructure.
In the motion of the mayor, it is detailed that Totana registers according to the local infrastructure survey, some deficits in equipment, both in those that has to do with the provision of minimum municipal services mandatory, established in the Law of Bases of Local Regime, As with those related to green or cultural areas and recreation.
In relation to the purpose of the motion, this survey indicates "the need to expand or create new cultural and recreational facilities, since the ratio is much lower than the reference values of the regional average".
From the Department of Infrastructures it is considered that it is fair that Totana has a true audience according to the population that has, and that allows to develop a cultural offer in the municipality throughout the year.
For this reason, we are working with the Autonomous Community in the drafting of a project that covers and rehabilitates the stands, dressing rooms and toilets of the auditorium "Marcos Ortiz", as well as in the joint search for funding to undertake This investment.
Since the situation of high debt suffered by the City of Totana (180 million euros) requires that 25% of current income be used to pay it, making it one of the most indebted municipalities in Spain, making it impossible for this Institution can undertake any investment without external financing.
