"Fire with firewood in La Santa and cheap politicking"
The Regional Administration (PP) dictates a rule to prohibit firewood in La Santa and warn the Mayor of Totana that breaching this rule can be a serious cause of responsibility.
The PP in Totana (same Party that has dictated the norm in Murcia), demands the Mayor to skip what they order from Murcia (PP).
Can you be more demagogue?
Would not it be easier to tell his comrades in Murcia to "repeal" the rule that obliges the Mayor and would be much simpler?
But of course ... then they could not be politic (taking "political slice" they said) taking advantage of the sensitivity of the totaneros and totaneras to wear down the Mayor.
The friends of the PP, should reflect what it is to skip the rules or laws for a public office.
Just take a look back and check how the Public Prosecutor spends when one breaks the norm and "removes penalties for noises or not respect the closing times of establishments."
The Power of Mayor or Aldermen - fortunately - is not an Absolute Power, because we are subject to the rule of law. This premise may not be known by citizens in their good faith.
But whoever occupies a public position of responsibility (although in Totana is in the Opposition), it has the duty to know it.
That said, the Mayor will do everything possible so that on January 7 (Romería Day) paellas and other typical dishes can be made with firewood in controlled places, assuming responsibility and providing means to prevent incidents.
Of that they do not doubt who they are annoyed by that Norm that has dictated the Responsible of Environment and that can be comprehensible in general terms.
Juan José Cánovas, Mayor of Totana
