The Department of Environmental Education of the City of Totana has agreed, by agreement of the Local Government Board, join the campaign Children's Education on Climate Change of the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate, based on the development of audiovisual materials and school sessions for conducting environmental awareness in schools is.
Totana Town Council is attached to said network for the development of actions against climate change, whose objectives include mitigation and adaptation to climate change, promotion and dissemination of climate change initiatives and the development of public awareness tools.
To provide the tools to sensitize its population municipalities, it has developed an educational campaign aimed at children between 6 and 12 years, simply and visually, explains what they can do to climate change.
For the campaign they have created two superheroes who are responsible for transmitting messages to all children.
Its purpose is to show that children can also become superheroes helping to save the planet with the advice you give them.
Was established in 2005 the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate in order to coordinate and promote climate change in Spanish cities and towns local control policies.
Since then, the network has been developing its activity under the collaboration agreement signed between the FEMP and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment to promote the development of local initiatives on climate change.
