The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, and spokesmen for the four municipal groups have today held a Board of Spokesmen urgently to prepare the extraordinary plenary session to be held on Monday, October 10, (20:00) on the Adjustment plan to try not to return the advance of 6.3 million to the Ministry of finance and qualify for new aid funding for 2016.
With this extraordinary plenary session, the City of Totana tries to avoid permanently, with a majority agreement, having to return to the Treasury 6.3 billion in loans and aid can now order more in the future.
DeTotanaaprobó City Council last July 21, with the votes of the PSOE, IU and GanarTotana-C'sy against the PP, the Adjustment Plan that claimed the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration to try to avoid having to return the budget advance from 6.357.947,16euros that was granted thanks to the decree of measures to support local authorities;
and also be eligible for the new aid funding for the year 2016.
This extraordinary plenary session allowed, on his third attempt, approve the Adjustment Plan after two failed attempts, which had been rejected by the PSOE and the PP, respectively.
The Board of Spokesmen has helped explain the process and procedures conducted by the Mayor and the Department of Finance to return to the Adjustment Plan, twice rejected by the plenary;
after negotiations with the Ministry to have access to loans two-year grace period and low interest to address the 6.3 million euros of the management plan to the Consistory filed at the time.
This situation was blocked because they were holding more than 500,000 euros of State taxes, so that approving this Plan Adjustment definitively, the City will receive each month a portion of the taxes payable to the State and to have access to that loan.
In addition, from the second half of October it will be able to access another Plan for about 9 or 10 million euros to deal with judicial decisions.
In this regard, the mayor has already held numerous meetings with major creditors asking them to remove the debt that the City of Totana has with them.
