The municipality Totana host the XXVI European Archery Championships and Pre Propellant 1 and 2 October at the archaeological site of La Bastida.

This event, which was presented by the Department of Heritage, the Association of Friends of the archaeological site La Bastida (ASBA) and the Society of Historiológicos and ethnographic studies, promote argárico site with top level competition.

The presentation was attended by the Councillor of Historical and Archaeological Heritage, Inmaculada Blazquez, president of the Society Historiológicos and Ethnographic Studies, Teresa Fernandez Azorín, and the representative of ASBA, Carlos Velasco.

This European aims sport of archery and javelin in its prehistoric modalities handcrafted instruments made by specialists.

On Saturday, at 9:00 am, pre-registration, and 11:00 hours will be held, there will be a visit to the site.

In the afternoon, at 16:00, the test Archery will be held, and in the evening, participants will enjoy a dinner with menu argárico cook the representatives of the Association of Innkeepers.

On Sunday, at 10:00 hours, will launch the competition with propellant;

and from 13:30 pm, will be the awards ceremony at the visitors center of the site.

It was devised in the late 1980s by prehistorians dedicated to experimenting with propellers because they wanted to better understand its operation.

The championship was committed to permanence in time, so the organizers hope to consolidate the initiative in order to streamline the site and attract tourism.

Currently, the championship comes to gather more than 800 participants, archaeologists and fans who come every year to different sleeves of the same event in prehistoric settlements in Spain and other European countries, including Belgium, Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland.

Totana already hosted this event last year with the presence of more than fifty athletes from Spain and France;

and this year is expected to have approximately fifty registered, similar to last year figure.

The bouquet councilor thanked the Association of Innkeepers and sponsors for making this competition and encouraged the residents of Totana to attend a form of very striking, and does not involve any cost to the municipal coffers.
