The Department of Animal Protection will offer a series of lectures school awareness Tenure of Pets in the different schools of Primary Education of the municipality for the course 2016/2017.
This initiative will be developed in collaboration with the company responsible for the collection of abandoned, homeless or lost in this county, "Esprineco, SL", according to the head of the area, Agustin Gonzalo Martinez animals.
These days started early last May, a pioneer in the region of Murcia in schools in Totana;
and the municipal intention is to continue at the same school to raise awareness of the need to know habits and behavior of living with pets.
The talks, which also include the presence of an agent of the local police, intended to travel to different centers and Primary Education in this town;
and this campaign is to sensitize school children between 9 and 11 years of the importance of the rules of coexistence between people and animals.
Students can learn about issues such as the historical relationship between humans and pets;
different races;
dangerous dogs;
food, care and health care;
citizenship and legality of pets;
vaccines;
mandatory microchip;
promoting adoptions, among others.
Indeed, the Local Government Board before the summer extended one more year, until May 2017, the provision of the service contract collection of abandoned, homeless or stray animals;
and the removal, transport and treatment of dead animals and control of feline colonies in the municipality of Totana.
