The Local Government Board has awarded the "Association Project Abraham" collection service on public roads, using containers, used clothing, shoes and toys, according to sources of the Department of Procurement.
The Abraham Project Association is authorized to manage non-hazardous waste in Murcia by Resolution of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning of the Autonomous Community of Murcia since 2007 and is part of the Spanish Association of Social Economy and Solidarity ( AERESS).
Separate collection of waste textiles, footwear and toys are designed to contribute to the development and improvement of measures for the preservation of the environment.
These are transformed into a resource that host provide housing, training, employment, development aid, assistance and support to groups at risk or social exclusion.
The collection system is based on the placement of metal containers at street level, municipal parks and superstores.
It also relies on the implementation of a collection system "door to door" where other containers are placed in neighborhood communities, shopping centers or other institutions interested in joining the collection protocol "door to door".
In addition, the collection of waste is promoted in schools preceded by an awareness campaign about recycling of this waste and social work of the Association "Project Abraham".
