The Department of Social Welfare reports that more than 500 students from Primary and Secondary schools in the municipality of Totana trained in drug prevention this past school year under the Municipal Drug Addiction Program.
From the Department, this program has developed several activities for this semester, among which the drug prevention workshops aimed at students of secondary school and taught by the Municipal Drug Addiction Prevention Service.
These have reached about 350 secondary school students, while workshops for students in sixth grade attended by about 180 students.
As every year, these workshops were taught in education centers themselves, the coach of the Department and with the collaboration of the local police.
With secondary students they have primarily addressed issues related to alcohol and cannabis, as these are the most consumed drugs among teens and has affected about the consequences of smoking in elementary workshops.
These workshops, which will resume next year, aim to provide objective information and appropriate information on the consequences of the use and abuse of drugs and the acquisition of skills, competencies and sufficient to effectively address the relationship with the same skills.
There have also been awareness campaigns against drugs, including the campaign of World Day Against Snuff, focused this year on boosting neutral or generic packaging products snuff.
To do this, the information point stood at the door of City Hall and brochures and guides related to the consumption of snuff to the population of the municipality were distributed.
