The school made "Reina Sofia" one more year commitment to develop educational innovation and entrepreneurship by creating school cooperatives that allow students an approach to the business world.
Students of 3rd of ESO have created and worked throughout the academic year into two school cooperatives, "POWER" and "FREE GHOST".
They have participated 36 students and methodology emphasizes that the student is the real protagonist of his learning.
'Learning by doing' is the cornerstone of this project venture, as are the students who are responsible for decision-making, while the role of teachers is support and advice.
This project is driven by the Union of Cooperative Education in the Region of Murcia (UCOERM) together with the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment and is framed within Initiation subject to entrepreneurial and business activity in a line of action called Promoting Entrepreneurial Culture in Early Ages.
The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, the project has seen firsthand visiting students in their positions in the market.
As explained by the mayor own school, their activity is the manufacture of products made by them in class, specifically for the home market have made soap and candles.
They have also made other self-funding markets within the center, at recess.
With school cooperatives is to develop skills such as personal initiative, autonomy, teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution ability or communication skills, among others, own abilities of an entrepreneur.
The mayor congratulated and thanked the students of the school for their involvement, their initiative and highlighted the competencies and skills they had acquired with the creation and management of companies in the classroom, told them that these generations should be more entrepreneurial than ever for the crisis situation that exists.
