The Department of Animal Protection continues the cycle of sessions of the Conference of School Awareness Tenure of Pets in the various centers with the collaboration of the company responsible for the collection of abandoned, homeless or stray animals.
This event was held at the Day Care Centers "José Moya Trilla" and for Persons with Mental Illness Totana, after it inaugurasen few weeks ago in the CEIP "La Cruz" of the town.
The second day also attended by the Councillor for Animal Protection, Agustin Gonzalo Martinez.
The talks, which also include the presence of an agent of the local police, will visit different centers and Primary Education of Totana.
The campaign aims to raise awareness among school children between 9 and 11 years of the importance of the rules of coexistence between people and animals.
Students can learn about issues such as the historical relationship between humans and pets;
different races;
dangerous dogs;
food, care and health care;
citizenship and legality of pets;
vaccines;
mandatory microchip;
promoting adoptions, among others.
In addition, the council stressed the importance of this training and educational initiative is for school-age students thus contributing to the awareness of the smallest and stressed that it aims to teach students to live with pets and make them respect towards the rest.
The mayor reiterated its appeal to those responsible for schools in Totana who want to be beneficiaries of these information both for the remainder of course as for the next school year 2016/2017 school talks.
