If you are dependent you need the help of another person (caregiver) to be able to live with dignity and satisfy your physiological needs. In Totana there are about 1,000 people who are dependent. But today we do not want to talk to you about dependent people but about their caregivers.Today, November 5, the international day of caregivers is celebrated #diadelaspersonascuidaras that aims to make this work visible through the #miraquiencuida initiative.
A work of vital importance and with a high personal, social and economic cost, which demands from our society recognition and support from all sectors. The work of caregivers is usually little recognized and unpaid since it takes place in the family environment.
The most common profile in Spain is a woman between 45-65 years of age who spends a large part of her time caring for one or more elderly people.
This situation has been aggravated by the current crisis. The Spanish Red Cross is a fundamental part of this group since it carries out the "Respiro" program that includes care, training and support for caregivers. For this reason, from the Totana Red Cross we have marked this day, November 5, on the agenda to plant the foundations of what will soon be our response to this group of Totana and for Totana.Totana Red Cross, increasingly close to people.https://www2.cruzroja.es/sercuídara/mira-quien-cuida#Miraquiencuida - Red CrossThe week of November 5, the #Diadelaspersonascuidores is celebrated and we want to make the work of caregivers visible through the #Miraquiencuida initiative:
