| This week the extension of this order that was issued due to the state of alarm for the pandemic | The Autonomous Community extends until February 28 the prohibition of burning agricultural prunings to minimize the impact of COVID-19, according to sources from the Department of the Environment. On May 5, the Order issuing urgent measures in relation to the burning of agricultural prunings during the COVID-19 state of alarm was published, an order that expired this past Wednesday, September 30.This prohibition was adopted as an additional preventive measure to face the pandemic and avoid an increase in air pollution so that it does not affect those who suffer from a respiratory disease. The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Environment, Antonio Luengo, has signed a new order that extends the prohibition of agricultural burning until February 28, 2021, which has already been published in the Bulletin Official of the Region of Murcia. In this order it is shown that "in view of the fact that the number of infections is growing rapidly, it is necessary that the communities continue with the necessary precautionary measures to help minimize the incidence of COVID-19" so it is extended the order until February 28.
