Totana neighbors:Once again we issue an urgent motion on a possible solution to the saturation of health centers.
We make it public before the plenary session to avoid that, as has happened to us other times, someone wants to score a goal that does not correspond to them.Says so:“URGENT” MOTION FROM THE “AHORA TOTANA” CIVIL PLATFORM, A COMPONENT OF THE MIXED MUNICIPAL GROUP OF THIS TOTANA CITY COUNCIL, TO THE ORDINARY PLENARY OF THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2020 ON “INSTALLING THE MURCIAN HEALTH SERVICE SO THAT THE TWO TOTANA HEALTH CENTERS THE PATIENT CARE FUNCTIONS ARE DISTRIBUTED, ONE EXCLUSIVELY FOR CARING FOR COVID-19 AND THE OTHER FOR ATTENTION TO THE REST OF PATHOLOGIES, AS LONG AS THE PANDEMIC SITUATION LASTS, AND THE STATISTICAL DATA INDICATE THAT NEWLY DEFINITELY VERSE ”.STATEMENT OF MOTIVESFor a few weeks now we have been immersed in another situation of a wave of continuous infections in our region, and with special virulence in our municipality of Totana.
Therefore, the health authorities of the Region of Murcia have placed the two Totana Health Centers in a situation of "Red Alert".Due to this “Red Alert” situation, the health care of the professionals who work in both Health Centers is especially dedicated to the treatment of the covid-19 pandemic, in all its aspects, either in the treatment of positive cases , as in the control of the tracking of positive cases that must be kept in quarantine, and to locate family members and people who have been in contact in recent days with the person who has been detected as positive for coronavirus.However, we also know that the rest of the pathologies are being treated, as it cannot be otherwise, only that, by not attending to patients in person and by telephone, the care is not the most appropriate.
We are aware of the collapse that the telephone switchboards of both Health Centers are suffering, which results in complaints from users.We want to highlight that there are many elderly people who unfortunately do not have close people who carry out this type of procedure, so it is an added difficulty when making a telephone appointment with their family doctor, or for treatment of some kind of circumstantially aggravated ailment.From this Civil Platform "NOW TOTANA", always in order to provide solutions to the problems of the Totaneros, we have considered that a good solution to the problems mentioned above would be to dedicate a Health Center specifically to the treatment of the covid-19 pandemic In all its extension, tests, treatment of patients who are not seriously hospitalized, search for people who have maintained contact with the person detected positive, tracing the positives to keep the quarantine, etc ...And on the other hand, in the other Health Center, attend to the usual pathologies, chronic diseases, urgent care of patients with significant relapses in other types of diseases, etc ...
Even when it comes to facilitating patient care, this Health Center It can open its doors in the afternoon and attend to the patients of that center in the morning and the patients of the other in the afternoon.The increase in the staff that should be allocated to this situation is evident, or else the staff of family doctors should be reorganized when implementing these measures.It would be up to the Management of the Murcian Health Service to decide which Health Center is dedicated to each thing, although in our modest opinion we see that the most suitable for providing comprehensive care to covid-19 patients would be the “Totana Sur”, and not because it is further away from the center of the town, but because in the Health Center of "Totana Centro" there are the Emergency Services in the afternoon, and in case of any emergency of hospitalization the ambulances are in that center.This extraordinary measure would be in force until we get out of this situation of massive influx of covid-19 cases, and it would be the Management of the Murcian Health Service who will decide when that moment has arrived.
For now, several months will pass, as in the so-called "first wave."From these lines to thank the immense effort that the health professionals of our municipality and our region are making.
This Civil Platform "NOW TOTANA" makes this proposal precisely to improve the quality of care for all users of both Totana Health Centers and if it is possible to also improve the work system of health professionals.For all the above, The Civil Platform "Now Totana" member of the Mixed Municipal Group, presents to the Plenary of the Corporation of Totana for debate and approval, if applicable, the following proposed resolutions:FIRST: That the Totana City Council urge and propose to the Murcian Health Service that, given the situation we are currently experiencing due to the evolution of the covid-19 pandemic, the two Totana Health Centers be used, one for the exclusive and comprehensive care of the covid-19 pandemic and the other Center for the usual care of other pathologies.SECOND: That the Murcian Health Service Management provide the material and personal means necessary to carry out this proposal.In Totana on September 16, 2020 Signed:José Antonio Andreo Moreno.Councilor of Now Totana
