| In order to discuss different environmental and sustainable development projects that affect this municipality | The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, met this week with the vice president and secretary of the Association for the Custody of the Territory (ACUDE), José Luis Castanedo, in order to discuss different environmental and sustainable development projects that affect this municipality, among those who have highlighted the situation of the project of the Zarcilla de Ramos-Aledo-Totana High Voltage overhead line.In addition, other issues have been discussed, such as the presentation of the new Totana farms that have been integrated into ACUDE's territory custody network, located in El Purgatorio, within the Sierra Espuña regional park; and the possibility of signing a collaboration agreement between the Totana City Council and ACUDE has also been studied.The Association for the Custody of the Territory and Sustainable Development (ACUDE) joined a few years ago the Citizen Platform against the High Voltage Line as it passes through Totana and Aledo; and has shown publicly on numerous occasions its total rejection of the construction of this infrastructure in both municipalities.The Association for the Custody of the Territory and Sustainable Development is a private, state-level, non-profit and independent entity; It was created to support, among other objectives, the owners of rustic properties with environmental and landscape values ??and to collaborate with them in improving the sustainable management of the territory.Likewise, it has been working to promote participatory management of the territory, as a tool for the conservation of cultural values, biodiversity, genetic diversity and the landscape in Spain.Likewise, it advocates the creation and promotion of a state network for the custody of the territory, the recovery and promotion of sustainable traditional uses of the environment and the implementation of actions and projects of education and awareness on cultural, natural and landscape values, both in the urban environment as rural.
