| And supports the work being carried out by the Association of Relatives and the Sick "Lola Valenzuela-La Carrasca de La Santa" | The Totana City Council today joins the awareness day on the occasion of the celebration of World Alzheimer's Day and supports the assistance work being carried out by the Association of Relatives and Alzheimer's Patients "Lola López Valenzuela-La Carrasca de La Santa", whose pathology affects patients and relatives or direct caregivers.From the Totanero Consistory, the work carried out by this entity is recognized and appreciated, and that it has been especially important and necessary in these complicated months due to the effects of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus COVID-19, due to the complications it entails for the Family members of people with Alzheimer's deal with confinement, restrictive measures and all the circumstances of the situation in order to maintain care for their relatives.On this occasion, the motto chosen by the Spanish Alzheimer's Confederation on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day 2020 is "Dependence outside the Law".Thus, this year the demands focus on the Law for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Care for people in a situation of Dependency, how it affects the group and in what specific aspects measures should be articulated that improve care for people with Alzheimer's and other dementias (patient-caregiver binomial) and are not left out of the correct and equitable application of this Law.The concepts contemplated in this Law focus, as it could not be otherwise, on the care and protection of the person who has the specific problem that causes dependency (age, illness, disability), also adding its permanent nature.
