The round of meetings to update the Third Municipal Equality Plan of Totana begins, with the participation of the different sectors of Totanera society (10/09/2020)

The Totana City Council has started this week the round of meetings to update the III Municipal Equality Plan, giving participation to the representatives of the municipal government and in which responsible for the different political, economic and social sectors that make up the total society.To carry out this purpose, an analysis of the reality of the municipality will be carried out, counting on the social fabric of Totana in all its areas, in order to consolidate the principles on which the III Municipal Equality Plan must be based, with validity for the next four years (2020-2024).The Local Government Board already awarded last July to the company "El Molino Formación de Ocio y Tiempo Libre, SL" the contract to prepare the III Municipal Plan for Equality as Prevention of Gender Violence for an amount of 8,589.79 euros and with a maximum duration of six months.A total of two offers had been submitted to the bidding procedure, due to the fact that the Totana City Council does not have sufficient human resources, making it necessary to contract externally.The III Municipal Equality Plan is aimed at achieving real equality at the local level with a direct impact on citizens, projecting an image of the City Council in accordance with the principle of equal opportunities between men and women in all areas of action.The document contemplates several phases of elaboration based on the commitment by the local Corporation of a document that includes the principles, the diagnosis through the collection of information and detection of needs, the definition of the areas to intervene and the design of an Action Plan , approval by the plenary session and implementation for monitoring and evaluation thereof.The Totana City Council already declared years ago its commitment to the establishment of policies that integrate equal treatment and opportunities between men and women without discriminating on the basis of sex, as well as the promotion of measures to achieve real equality in the council.
