| The IMAS allocates 500,000 euros to financial aid for people over 65 who reside and are registered in the Region of Murcia | The Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, through the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), has allocated 500,000 euros to financial aid of between 300 and 3,000 euros for the purchase of hearing aids, glasses and oral treatment for people over 65 years, residents and registered in the Region of Murcia, according to sources from the Department of Social Welfare.Applications must be addressed to the General Directorate of Pensions, Valuation and Inclusion Programs of IMAS within 20 working days from Thursday, June 11, after being published today in the Official Gazette of the Region (BORM).
The initiative includes subsidies of up to 1,500 euros for oral treatment; up to 300 euros for the purchase of glasses and up to 3,000 euros for a maximum of two hearing aid units per person.IMAS will resolve requests within a maximum period of six months.
In any case, administrative silence will be understood as a denial.For the awarding of aid, IMAS will take into account the income of the family nucleus; the number of members; the cadastral value of the real estate that is among the properties of the people requesting the subsidy and the health problems of the family unit.Special attention will be given to the applications of beneficiaries of the Basic Income of Insertion and those people who have been denied aid in the two years prior to this call.If the IMAS does not spend the 500,000 euros of this call for aid to the elderly, it can allocate the money to other social purposes.
