The Council of Ministers agreed yesterday to declare official mourning for ten days throughout Spain, from 00:00 on Wednesday, May 27 to 00:00 on Saturday, June 8, as a testimony of pain at the death of thousands of Spanish because of the fatal consequences of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.The Totana City Council adheres to this official declaration of mourning, expressing our condolences, affection and respect towards all the families that have suffered the irreparable loss of their loved ones.During the days of mourning decreed by the Government of Spain, all the official flags of public buildings will be flown at half-staff on those of foreign countries; and, they will have a black crepe placed on the top of the mast in the interior ones.Today, Wednesday, at 12:00 hours, a minute of silence will be observed in memory of the deceased at the gates of the Totanero Town Hall, in the Plaza de la Constitución.
Due to the moment we are living, caution is recommended avoiding the concentrations of people, and the citizens of Totana are invited to join from the place they are at that moment, as an act of deep respect stopping their activity to keep a minute of silence in the doors of your home or workplace. The collective effort of all totaneros in the fight against this serious crisis has contributed the best of ourselves to continue with renewed forces.
In these moments we want to remember with emotion all those who are missing.
Rest in peace.
