The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, has urged Totana employers to implement, as far as possible, the intensive working day to prevent the movement of people on public roads coinciding with the start of non-essential work activity.
The first mayor made this appeal after the workers of non-essential activities resumed their work on Monday in companies where it is not possible to do so through telematic methods and in the autonomous communities that are not festive, after the end of the recoverable paid leave, while security and protection measures will be reinforced.
In this way, from today the situation of the first 15 days of the state of alarm returned, so that workers from non-essential activities, such as construction, rejoined again, but the protocols of the preferential nature of remote work are maintained and telework when it can be developed in this way, together with protection and hygiene measures.
The mayor's proposal aims to avoid, as much as possible, the exposure of people on the street or in the workplace.
In addition, it has asked workers in general to take extreme measures in a situation in which more people leave their jobs, and entails greater exposure and an increased risk of contagion.
In this sense, he has asked "not to let your guard down, no matter how eager we are to get out of this situation";
And he said that "we must overcome the pandemic in the best conditions and in the shortest time within our means and with our weapons: staying at home."
In addition, it has shown its concern for the attitude of "relaxation" of some people taking advantage of the return from work;
And he warned that "we cannot relax", recalling the upswing in cases of infection in Italy or China due to relaxation, which makes it clear that "the very serious risk is far from over," he said.
Lastly, he recalled that “the most effective is to stay at home and not leave if it is not essential and necessary to work or fulfill the most necessary obligations;
because we cannot lose now what has been advanced in the last weeks â€.
