The Local Police have identified a total of 3,257 people and vehicles, opening 239 sanctioning files since the state of alarm began on March 14 until April 7, according to sources from the Headquarters of this Body.
The majority of disciplinary proceedings were carried out for breach of Organic Law 4/2015 on Protection of the Citizen Security Law, in contravention of the rule on the transport of people in vehicles;
in addition to making 7 acts of cessation of activity in shops.
These actions were carried out by members of the Local Police pursuant to the provisions of Royal Decree 463/2020 declaring the state of alarm established by the Government of Spain.
In addition, at the request of the health authorities or the Government Delegation in Murcia, the transfer of two infected neighbors has been carried out, and two inquiries have been made regarding the chains of infection.
Similarly, police officers have participated, during this time, in the control of possible breaches of quarantines, having to date carried out surveillance in ten homes in Totana.
Every day an average of 25 men and women perform service in the Local Police Corps, covering 24 hours a day, according to the same sources.
Other important police actions
In addition to the actions that are generated to control the pandemic, the members of the Local Police have carried out other actions for crimes against road safety, the consumption or possession of narcotic drugs, being irregularly in Spanish territory and not complying with municipal ordinances.
In this regard, three people have been arrested for crimes against road safety: one detained for driving a vehicle without ever having obtained a driving license or license.
The incident took place on March 27, at 7:30 am, when a vehicle that attempted to evade was observed at one of the controls that was being carried out on the New Way, being intercepted by agents in the Paso de María Jesús from this town.
In addition, two individuals have been arrested for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
The first of them on April 5, at 10:00 p.m., in which the agents observed a vehicle stopped without just cause in the Glorieta Príncipe de Asturias (La Turra).
When identifying the occupants, the agents observed that there were five occupants, all with symptoms of having consumed alcohol.
The five were denounced for violating the provisions of the state of alarm, and the driver was subjected to the appropriate alcohol tests, giving a final result of 0.93 mg / liter, for which he was arrested and brought to justice.
The second of them took place on April 6, at 11:15 p.m., when the service agents circulating on Juan Carlos I Avenue, observed a parked vehicle, the driver of which was throwing a can of beer out the window onto public roads. .
Upon approaching it, officers were able to see 6 empty beer cans inside, which the driver said he had consumed on site.
He was instructed to leave the vehicle parked there, and to walk home, as it was 200 meters away.
Minutes later, the agents observed the vehicle, passing and zigzagging along Juan Carlos I Avenue, which they proceeded to halt, which they ignored, and it was necessary to put the police car on their way to force them to stop.
The driver was subjected to the appropriate alcohol tests, giving a final result of 0.86 mg / liter, for which he was arrested and brought to justice.
Likewise, six disciplinary proceedings have been opened for the consumption of or illicit possession of toxic drugs on public roads, having apprehended 7.2 grams of marijuana, 0.3 grams of hashish, and two bags with 0.5 grams of cocaine , therefore violating article 36.6 of LO 4/2015 on Protection of Citizen Security.
37 cases have also been processed for infringement of Organic Law 4/2000, of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration, for being irregularly in Spanish territory.
In relation to municipal ordinances, a total of 14 disciplinary proceedings have been opened: 4 for causing inconvenience, 3 for urinating on public roads, 1 for throwing waste and 9 for consuming alcohol on public roads.
In relation to traffic, a total of 114 disciplinary proceedings have been opened for circulating without insurance, or with the ITV expired before the closing of the ITV, s, for improper parking, etc.
Lastly, the Local Police has carried out 7 controls to assess the risk of victims of gender violence in this municipality.
The residents of Totana are reminded that the declaration of the state of alarm does not exempt from compliance with the rest of the regulations that are in force, and specifically that of traffic, since there are some drivers who do not comply with traffic regulations despite knowing that there are more service agents guarding the public roads of this municipality.
